Aventurine is composed primarily of silicon dioxide (SiO2). It is found in a variety of colors and transparencies,
from translucent to opaque, in shades of green, orange, brown, yellow, or gray. Tiny inclusions of any of several
shiny minerals give the stone its glittering effect, known as aventurescence. The color of this glittering depends
on the mineral included in the stone with the quartz. Mica gives the stone a yellowy or silvery glitter or sheen.
Goethite and Hematite give the stone a reddish or grayish glitter or sheen. Fuschite gives the stone a greenish
sheen. The most common color of aventurine is green; therefore, it is most often used to activate and clear the
heart chakra making it an excellent stone for shielding a person from unwanted energies or intrusions. Aventurine
balances the yin and yang energies, improving one's creative nature. This stone was used in shamanic medicine
wheel work to aid spirit guides in connecting to the green, healing heart light. It also helps to stimulate growth in
children. Aventurine has an affinity for Aries and vibrates to the number three. Click here for an example of
